The Miniroos competition will begin on Saturday 1st April. There will not be any games during the holidays, 8th April and 15th April 2023. The remainder of the competition will recommence with round two on Saturday 22nd April.

Under 6 and Under 7 are placed into teams based on friend requests and school, not all requests will be possible but we will aim to accommodate to our best ability. Starting at under 8 the children are required to attend a grading day. During this time the children will be assessed based on their skill ability and placed into teams with other children of like ability.

Grading day will be on Sunday 19th February, Little Warrina Oval

  • Under 8’s – Sign in 7:45am grading 8am-8:45am
  • Under 9’s -Sign in 8:45am grading 9am-9:45am
  • Under 10’s – Sign in 9:45am grading 10am-10:45am
  • Under 11’s – Sign in 10:45am grading 11am-11:45am

All miniroos teams will need a parent coach and a parent manager. Please contact the club once the teams have been announced if you would like to volunteer for either of these roles. The manager is required to enter in game day results and help with the administration side of the team. The coach is responsible for training the team and coaching on a Saturday. Every second training session will have a Kano coach leading the session and helping with skill acquisition.  All coaches and managers are required to have a current Working With Children Check and will be checked before the season begins.

Parents may be asked to help referee the games on a Saturday (Particularly with the 6/7’s) this helps take the weight off the coach and allows them to guide the team. Please make yourself aware of the rules and game format, in the hope that you can help referee and be able to answer any questions the kids have regarding the game.

During the season teams/ parents will be asked to help volunteer at the club canteen. If you are happy to help (Particularly between 10th April -13 May) please contact the club.

We are also looking for age coordinators. They will be looking after the teams in their age group and will be a pathway to the miniroos coordinator. We are hoping they will be able to field some of the questions or concerns.
