MiniRoos Player Information

MiniRoos Community Teams

Player Information

MiniRoos is the introduction level to Winter Football competition for players between the ages of 6 & 11 years old. As players progress through the age groups, the fields will increase in size, as well as the number of players on the pitch.

This prepares players to eventually move to 11v11 on a full-size field in a junior competition.

The focus in these age groups is fun, whilst also developing skills, as they grow in confidence.

Players generally train with their team once a week from April to August and play a match on the weekend.

How do age groups work?

  • Age is based on the age your child turns this season.
  • We cater to players between the ages of 5 and 18.
  • Please note, the youngest a child can be is 4 turning 5 in the current season. We cannot take a child who turns 4 in the current season.

Midweek training

  • Most teams undertake one session of training every week during the season.
  • All MiniRoos teams have a fortnightly session with KANO and then one session taken by a parent coach.

To get started players will only need a few items, everything excluding the shin pads and boots are available to buy in our online shop.

  • BFC Playing shirt - this is provided by the Club, and returned at the end of the playing season.
